Hazell, a chartered civil engineer and a postgraduate in sustainable business leadership, joins the firm’s Ruislip head office after spending almost 30 years in the construction industry – most recently as Balfour Beatty’s sustainability and social value manager.

ABM UK is on a mission to cut its emissions, change its approach from waste management to materials recovery, and to increase its community engagement and social value delivery while supporting the supply chain team to engage with sustainable procurement.

With experience in data management and reporting, provision of case studies, supporting teams, systems management and driving collaboration and innovation, Hazell has strong credentials for delivering sustainability programmes.

She will report to Andrew Lewinton, ABM UK’s quality, health, safety and environment director and will be responsible for aligning the sustainability, social value and climate change strategy to the UK marketplace.

Lewinton said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Katrina to the business. She is an expert at developing, supporting, and delivering sustainable solutions and reporting the effectiveness of such initiatives to stakeholders.”
