You may also have further experience in fabric management and alterations.
What you’ll be doing
In this highly varied role, you will be responsible for implementing maintaining effective management systems and procedures across our client’s portfolio. Working to improve service delivery and continuity across the mechanical, electrical, vertical transport and public health services of their tenants, you’ll also enhance the value of their properties.
Day-to-day, you’ll be providing technical and operational support to various building managers and occupiers. Helping to direct the technical component of the Permit to Work System and checking method statements, you’ll also liaise with Building Management and tenants to ensure operational and technical matters have as little impact on your occupiers’ businesses as possible. Overseeing all engineering managers and building surveyors, you’ll ensure both client and occupier satisfaction is consistently high.
Implementing, managing and developing the concept of planned maintenance works, you’ll ensure all relevant information, plant history and drawings are accurate and up to date. Implementing a base building asset register, you’ll also review and develop site-specific maintenance tasks and replacements in line with the budget.
Contract management will also be a huge part of your role. As you organise and attend monthly meetings with associated contractors, you will be responsible for reviewing their reports and any proposals. You’ll be directing tendering procedures, carrying out post tender interviews, producing client contract placing reports and observing contractors throughout mobilization periods. You will also be needed to monitor, analyse and interpret information to ensure all plant and systems are functioning correctly.
Our client will rely on you to ensure their compliance with all current technical legislation and recommended standards. It’ll also be up to you to make sure all schemes, records and manuals are complete and up to date. You’ll ensure all statutory inspections are carried out by their due dates, and also monitor the progress of actions through internal reports, spreadsheets and minutes.
Carrying out regular audits and inspections of plant related areas and equipment, ensuring the safety of all workers and tenants will be in your hands. Completing both planned and random reviews and inspections of maintenance programmes, fit-out works, PPM and reactive works, you’ll be required to report your findings to senior staff.
You’ll work as the middle man between your tenants and their landlords, reviewing occupiers’ drawings, specifications and reports so you can offer your professional advice on the impact on base build operations or any technical or lease concerns. You’ll also oversee planned works in the properties, liaising with appropriate teams to ensure compliance with the License for Alteration that you will approve.

With your vast experience in budget management, you’re already highly skilled at dealing with your remits financial requirements. In this position, you’ll be responsible for the preparation and management of engineering service charge budgets, including procurements. Managing budget control, preparation of relevant specification, raising orders, and processing invoices, your vast skillset will be greatly appreciated by our client.

You’ll also arrange independent energy audits and action their recommendations as necessary. Offering your professional opinion, you’ll be advising on all issues, improvements and potential savings needed to hit targets.
Managing all engineering data and reports, you’ll make sure the appropriate action and follow-ups are performed. Identifying the need for specialist intervention, you’ll review the consultant briefs on a regular basis.
