University College London (UCL) is a globally recognised Institution and one of the UK’s most successful Universities with over 12,000 staff and 38,000 students. The activities of UCL have expanded as a result of a number of mergers and academic and funding opportunities.

Their estate comprises of over 250 buildings valued in excess of £2bn including more than 4 million square feet of academic teaching space and c.6000 units of student accommodation. UCL is embarking on a 10 year Capital Programme which will see capital investment over the period amounting to around £1.2bn and including the development of a New University Quarter (UCL East) at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.


The accommodation team manage over 6,000 student rooms across their own portfolio and third party agreements. The Accommodation Applications Manager will review and improve the day to day operations of the allocations systems. You will work at a strategic level to lead on the development and implementation of system updates that will improve the functionality for the both the operational teams and the students.  This is a key function that will underpin the University’s mission to be the leading accommodation provider with the UK HE sector.  

Person Specification

The successful candidate will possess strong experience in reservations or allocation systems and software (ideally with either student residences or hotels) with a proven track record in high volume reservations. You will be adept in occupancy management strategies with good innovation and creativity skills.  This post will suit individuals who enjoy working with, analysing and improving systems.
