Do you have experience as a Site Manager or Clerk of Works? Are you able to manage minor works and capital projects?

We are looking for a Clerk of Works to join the Estate team until November 2020, which is part of the larger Masterplan, Estates and Design directorate. As a client-side representative working in the best interests of the Science Museum Group (SMG), you will support the construction of Building ONE; a 26,000m2 collections management facility for the storage and care of the SMG's historic objects.  You will play a key role in overseeing standards and performance of the main build and other smaller infrastructure projects across the National Collection Centre site.

You will ensure the Building One project and other minor works are delivered to the agreed drawings, specification and schedule, coordinating site logistics and access whilst liaising with relevant stakeholders. You will also carry out site inspections, ensure contractors are compliant and reviews RAMS and permits for work, advising internal colleagues on standards, guidance and legislation.

It is essential you have experience at craft or technician level in construction or civil engineering and experience in a Site Manager, Clerk of Works or site supervisory role. You will be able to manage major building works and other minor projects, with experience of undertaking surveys, audits and site testing and a sound knowledge of non-domestic building works.
