Service manager - Industrial Painting

You will report directly to the Regional Operations Manager overseeing and delivering industrial painting works and other operations. You will lead a team of direct and sub-contract personnel who will deliver works to the highest standard, exceeding contract and client expectations. You will have full P&L responsibility and take accountability for health safety and standards within your designated area. Works will be delivered as per specification, fulfilling contractual requirements and achieving budgeted volumes.

The main responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Ensure work specifications and method statements are fully compiled with and provided to your contract team
  • Ensure your management team and field staff understand and implement contract documentation and risk assessments
  • Ensure operational procedures, safe working methods and best environmental practices are followed and implemented
  • Manage work programs ensuring work is issued and carried out to the required standard with minimum risk to employees, sub-contractors and others on site
  • Continually improve customer and client services
  • Set standards and targets for contract staff in-line with contract and company objectives
  • Complete safety, environment and quality audits, implementing close out actions and improvement plans
  • Review management audits to ensure compliance and standards
  • Ensure operations are delivered within agreed budget and planned time scales

You will be an approachable, strong and robust leader with previous experience in a similar role within a similar sector. You will also:

  • Have IOSH and CDM (essential)
  • Have project management experience (essential)
  • Have NEBOSH (desirable)
  • Have ICORR inspector level 2 (desirable)
  • Experience in Industrial Painting, ideally in the Electrical (utility) or Gas sector
  • Have experience in pricing works (desirable)
  • Have excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Have previous P&L and budget management experience
  • Have knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and health and safety
