Space and Property Manager
This is an exciting new role responsible for the management of space across the University estate. The post holder will own and implement the space strategy. The successful candidate will be an experienced change manager, with the ability to influence staff at all levels and implement successful and sustainable change.
The post holder will optimise the use of physical assets by developing space and asset management strategies and ensure relevant statutory and legal compliances are in place, along with appropriate risk management and contingency plans. Champion the effective use of space across the estate, taking into consideration the requirements of both modern and historic environments, and supporting a range of functions including offices, teaching, libraries, sports, student residences, and other support spaces.
The post holder will be required to work across the University to ensure the availability, understanding and embedding of timely, accurate estates information. To resolve problems and propose imaginative solutions that leverage effective and efficient use of the University’s physical resources.
They will be comfortable liaising with the university’s landlords on property and tenancy matters and advise on the arrangements for properties leased from the university and conduct relevant discussions with its tenants and prospective tenants.
The role requires the post holder to be a strong communicator at all levels and will participate in the strategic planning, communication, implementation of initiatives in addition to problem solving.
