Maintenance Technician Supervisor
The Estates & Facilities Directorate is looking for a Maintenance Technician Supervisor at our Avery Hill Campus FM office.
The Maintenance Technician will provide consistent, high levels of service across the Avery Hill campus, positively impacting on the student, staff and visitor experience. The campus estate comprises is a mix of student accommodation and academic buildings.
The purpose of the role is to monitor, supervise, organise, audit and control the labour of the maintenance staff team. The maintenance staff team comprises both internal and contracted staff based at our Avery Hill Campus. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring standards, maintaining staff performance and liaising with and directing a wide range of contractors working on site. They will also liaise with and establish good working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders on site to ensure efficient, effective and customer oriented services are at all times maintained.
The role requires the post holder to demonstrate significant experience in a supervisory position and managing both in-house and contract staff management. They must have good knowledge of the operation and maintenance of building services and hold a formal competence in at least one trade discipline e.g. mechanical, electrical or plumbing etc.
The post holder will demonstrate strong customer focus and detailed technical understanding and experience of managing student accommodation an advantage. A Flexible approach and ability to be on call and attend out of hours when required is essential.
