Deputy Director of Estates and Academic Environment (Estates Services)
London South Bank University (LSBU) is one of London's largest and oldest universities with over 23,000 students and 2,000 staff. Since 1892, the University has been providing vocationally-relevant, accredited and professionally recognised education. The University has a large and diverse Central London estate portfolio with over 20 buildings totalling 120,000m² in size. LSBU has invested heavily in the development of the University estate over the last decade and has ambitious development plans.
Reporting to the Director of Director of Estates and Academic Environment, the postholder will lead the Estate Services team in the strategic direction, implementation and management of all estates services (facilities management) across our diverse estate. This is a large team encompassing 26 direct employees and c.300 contracted staff. The varied remit includes all aspects of soft services (security, catering, reception, cleaning) in addition to space management, CAFM system/helpdesk and moves management.
The successful candidate will possess demonstrable experience of leading an FM function across a comparable multi-site and diverse portfolio. You will be a strong communicator with extensive experience in leading a ‘best in class’ customer facing team of both directly employed and contracted staff. Adept change management and business transformation experience in a similar collegiate and collaborative environment is essential. This post will suit professionals who enjoy taking full day to day operational responsibility in addition to fully participating in long-term planning of a consumer led portfolio.
