ActionAid are looking for an immediately available Facilities Manager for a 3 month fixed term contract.

This is a varied, challenging and rewarding role within ActionAid UK. The main areas of focus are:

  • to run an efficient and responsive operational Facilities Management team
  • to develop and manage a property and estates strategy to ensure that our environment meets the needs of our workforce and organisational strategy both now and in the future

As Facilities Manager, you will provide a collaborative, inspiring, safe, resilient, efficient and cost-effective working environment for all staff in our London and Somerset Offices.

To achieve this, you must have proven experience in shaping an office environment and ways of working, helping create a working space that is flexible and enhances collaboration. 

You will have strong technical FM skills overseeing an efficient, safe, and effective business as usual operation to ensure the smooth running of our two offices, including extensive experience of business continuity planning and crisis management. To do this you will have had extensive experience working with IT and infrastructure teams as well as third party suppliers and contractors.

To succeed in this role, you must be interested in how the working environment shapes culture, be commercially astute, innovative and solutions focused with strong relationship management skills whilst being prepared to challenge the status quo. You must also be a member of the IWFM, as keeping up with current thinking and best practice is an essential part of the role.

As the Facilities Manager is responsible for running an operational Facilities Management team, we are keen to receive applications from those who are skilled at leading, motivating and developing high performing teams and who can confidently develop, maintain and monitor plans and budgets.

If you have a proven technical background in Facilities Management and can demonstrate that you are able to get buy-in for change from stakeholders and the wider organisation and are confident in facilitating new ways of working, this may be the ideal role for you.
