Description
The Maintenance / Building Surveyor will be responsible for:
For issuing orders to the DLO, or specialist contractors, for necessary works to Public Buildings.
To carry out survey work, then compile and implement Planned Maintenance Improvement programmes to the Civic Offices and Darklands Road depot.
Improvement programmes to the Civic Offices and Darklands Road depot.
To assist the Housing Asset Manager in any periodic surveys of Council properties to update information for programming of future planned maintenance works.
To provide all the relevant information relating to programmes and associated costs to enable appropriate planning and scheduling.
To be responsible for, manage and lead the team of cleaning and caretaking staff at the Civic Offices and Darklands Road depot.
To provide technical advice to the Housing Asset Manager, prepare reports, attend meetings as required and generally contribute towards the efficient operation of the Public Buildings service.
Oversee Facilities Management functions for the Civic Offices and Depot including energy management, heating & ventilation, Fire alarms & equipment, security, lift maintenance, disability access and refuse collection.
To inspect maintenance work when advised as complete, including liaising with the DLO, or specialist contractor, to ensure everything is satisfactory, before authorising payment.
To be responsible for responsive repairs, as notified, to other operational public buildings as well as the Council's commercial portfolio.
To be responsible for responsive and planned maintenance to the Civic Offices and Darklands Road depot.
To co-ordinate one-off safety inspection programmes in public building and Council housing e.g. water testing, asbestos sampling.
To oversee Facilities Management work for the Civic Offices and Depot, including acting as team leader for the caretaker and office cleaning staff.
To respond to and co-ordinate repair requests to other Council owned buildings.
To co-ordinate, lead and be responsible for responsive and planned maintenance to the Civic Offices and Darklands Road depot.
Profile
The successful Maintenance / Building Surveyor will need to be comfortable completing the key responsibilities and be able to commute to Derbyshire on a daily basis.
Job Offer
The candidate will receive a hourly rate of between £19/ Hour to £21/ Hour, potentially more depending on experience.
