The role and its responsibilities

Reporting to the Campus Maintenance & Compliance Manager the Senior Site Engineer will be responsible for the supervision of Mechanical and Electrical Services work flow and work allocation. This will include reactive works, planned preventive works, statutory insurance examinations, and minor works projects, utilizing the department’s in-house engineering team and specialist contractors to meet service level agreements and customer expectations.

The role holder will have a commitment to providing excellent customer service to enhance the estate and the student experience alongside working with internal and external stakeholders and tenants on a regular basis.

Skills and experience

The post holder will need proven experience in Mechanical and Electrical maintenance with an understanding of reactive and planned preventative maintenance systems and procedures.

You will need proven knowledge of M&E statutory compliance regulations along with practical experience of Health and Safety processes and safe systems of work. Previous experience in similar role.

The post requires good communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team. You will need to be a qualified engineer with NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds part 1 & 2 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

The Estates and Facilities Directorate is responsible for the delivery of the Estates and Infrastructure Strategy which covers the areas of major construction and refurbishment projects; facilities operation and space management, including timetabling and energy management.
