We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced corporate trainer, to work in a varied training role within a highly motivated, professional team delivering fun, informative training to OCS staff & equipping them with the knowledge, practical skills and motivation to carry out work-related tasks.

Working closely with the Operations Managers and the Training Standards Manager to deliver a wide range of training in both Soft Services and Aviation. This will include training in the cleaning of terminals, washrooms and hygiene services to windows and high-level cleaning and porters, as well as inflight supplies security training. This delivery role includes Health & Safety, ISO and other duties to meet the needs of the Operational teams at Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.

You will be coaching individual employees on-the-job to ensure the successful transfer of classroom training whilst maintaining the high standards of service expected by our clients. This will involve weekly reports reflecting your activity and maintaining accurate administration on all aspects of the training cycle for your delegates.

There are many interesting parts to this role and they will include;

Training Delivery

Delivering high quality training programmes with the primary focus being completion of all mandatory training within the required timescales. The main subject will be Terminal Cleaning and other Soft Services but will also include Inflight Supplies Security Training

  • Working with operational managers to schedule required training and to deliver against those schedules
  • Supporting the Regional Training & Standards Manager to continuously review training programmes and evaluate their effectiveness upon the business
  • Supporting the implementation and delivery of new training initiatives e.g. E-learning and the use of social media.
  • During contract mobilisation, working with operational teams to deliver training requirements as agreed within the mobilisation plan
  • Liaising with the Management team regarding recruitment levels and new starters to effectively plan Induction training

Communication

  • Establishing strong positive relationships with the operations team including regular meetings to discuss training administration and the monitoring of training delivery. Completing any required actions within the agreed timescales
  • Updating skills and knowledge by agreeing a system with operations for when processes change and training materials need updating, liaising with the Regional Standards Manager-South
  • Delivering practical learning workshops that appeal to all learning styles and cultures to enable delegates to be confident that they can put the learning into practice

Inspiring Performance

  • Coaching and mentoring new members of the team on the job - act as a role model
  • Creating a professional, comfortable, visually attractive learning environment both landside and airside
  • Delivering positive, effective training
  • Identifying employees with potential, whilst out in the business and communicating this to Operational Managers
  • Approaching operational challenges with a pro-active, positive and can-do attitude

Record keeping & Reporting

  • Training records - For all training files to be up to date and comply with the CAA, OCS and Heathrow Airport Authority rules and regulations
  • Training evaluation forms to be issued
  • Regularly producing reports to provide training statistics to the Regional Skills Manager and Operations on pass and fail statistics, as well as on board audits of test pieces

Achieving results

  • Regularly monitoring and reviewing training material, ensuring it is current, relevant and appropriately delivered using blended learning methods. To work with mangers to ensure that trainees are receiving suitable support and accurate guidance

Experience required:

Education/Qualifications

  • Good standard of Education
  • Must be a qualified level 3 Trainer, ideally certified by the DFT to enable delivery of training to Ground Security Staff
  • Completion of Train the Trainer course preferred
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of using Excel/PowerPoint/SharePoint/Microsoft Teams

Working experience/Personal attributes

  • Previous training experience within a similar environment would be an advantage I.E. Airport/Airline staff
  • Good knowledge of health and safety requirements
  • Ability to be a positive and professional role model to our staff
