Position: Head of Estates

Location: Manchester with national travel

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £38,000 to £42,500 per annum dependant on experience

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Estates to manage the day to day running of our property portfolio and play a key role in its future development, Working closely with the Director of Estates and Resources, being a member of the Senior Leadership Team and heading up a small team you will have the opportunity to be involved in a range of exciting projects as well as playing a key role in the management and upgrade of existing sites.

Your role will ensure that all areas related to Estates and Health and Safety are managed efficiently and effectively and that all company premises are compliant with legislation, best practice and company policies, procedures and standards. You will also be supporting Centre Managers and Resource Managers with estates and health and safety matters at a local level; coordinating building services, repairs, maintenance, upgrades and alterations in line with lease obligations and company procedures.

You will have line management responsibility for the Estates Administrator and other support staff as required. Your main contacts will be with staff, suppliers, managing agents, landlords and contractors.

About you:

- Qualified to NEBOSH certificate level or equivalent

- Experience of the management of a large portfolio of sites

- Experience of successfully working as part of multidisciplinary teams

- Experience of determining maintenance solutions and accurately costing building work

- Experience of effectively monitoring budgets and effective cost control

- Understanding of planned and reactive building maintenance scheduling

- Knowledge and awareness of relevant legislation (Health and Safety, building, DDA, Asbestos, Fire Safety, Gas Safety and Electrical Safety)

- Experience of reviewing, monitoring and negotiating supplier contracts

- Experience of dealing with landlords and agents relating to lease agreements, dilapidations claims and / or rent reviews
