About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Manager to manage the Council’s Property Maintenance Team and Portfolio.

We are seeking an established maintenance supervisor/manager with a wide range of practical skills and experience, preferably from an M and E background.

You will be responsible for managing the Council’s Property Maintenance Team, ensuring the Council’s legislative and Health & Safety requirements are met, that sufficient processes are in place to actively manage reactive and planned repairs in an efficient and cost-effective way and providing technical advice on all Building Surveying matters.

Qualification at degree level or equivalent in Property or extensive relevant experience is essential.

Previous experience of managing professional construction and engineering staff is also essential.

Responsibilities include:

Planned & scheduled weekly and monthly routine and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure fully operational facilities and high standards at all times.

A sound understanding of Work and Health / Safety at Work regulations & best practice.

Be computer literate, preferably with some experience of planned maintenance systems;

Proven practical experience and knowledge of building maintenance;

Experience of working with external contractors/suppliers.
