The Open University (OU) is the largest university in the UK by student population and is the only university to operate in all four nations of the UK. Estates are responsible for the management and development of the University’s premises in Milton Keynes and its National and Regional Centres.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to manage Estates compliance. You will develop and maintain asset data, action plans, policies, safe systems of works, risk assessments, construction safety documents and compliance recording systems for technical risks. You will develop and maintain method statements for planned maintenance and technical specifications for maintenance contracts for building fabric, grounds, mechanical and electrical engineering services, plant and equipment.

A technical expert in the maintenance of the built environment, you will provide interpretation of compliance requirements on the basis of reasonable practicability.

You will be flexible, able to adapt to change, use initiative and solve problems creatively, with excellent interpersonal skills including communication, negotiating and influencing.

You will have an HND, HNC, BTEC, NVQ level 5 or degree relevant to building services, mechanical or electrical engineering. Full summary of duties and Person Specification can be found within the Job-Related Information on our website.
