Estates and Facilities (E&F) provides a wide range of services to staff, students and visitors across all campuses. 

About the role

Reporting to the Director of Estates Operations, we are seeking to appoint a new Associate Director of Engineering and Maintenance. This is a newly formed role and requires an exceptional candidate to provide technical leadership and strategic direction to all engineering, operational maintenance, design and repairs services to all University owned and run buildings as well as the delivery of engineering infrastructure services, energy procurement and carbon management.   

You will be responsible for a large, diverse team of approximately 100 staff and an operating revenue of £6m per annum. 

We are looking fora strong leader with comprehensive technical knowledge, ability to drive excellence in service through large teams and the ability to deliver change. You will have a proven track record of leading operational facilities services across a comparable high-public footfall customer facing portfolio and have extensive experience of the full range of hard facilities services including the management of both internal delivery teams and external contracts. 

It is imperative that you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven stakeholder engagement ability.  The role will suit individuals with a high level of credibility, team leadership skills and the capability to deliver a culture of exceptional delivery at both an operational and strategic level. A proven track record in delivering change and transformation across a varied portfolio will be essential and you should be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen.
