Our ongoing success means that we are looking to add to our team with the appointment of a Contract Manager to manage the delivery of Soft Services (Cleaning, Catering, Security etc.) on a newly won, high profile Government contract. Through your teams, you'll provide the focus, direction and leadership required to ensure that Facilities Services are delivered to the highest of standards and in line with our client's specifications.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of multi-skilled soft services personnel
  • Managing all aspects of operational and tactical delivery of soft services
  • Ensuring complete adherence to contract specifications & requirements, client & company KPI's & SLA's and Statutory & Mandatory legislation compliance in Health, Safety & Environmental legislation along with all OCS and customers' policies and procedures
  • Effectively managing the contract within financial and commercial targets, ensuring all margins are controlled and managed within the parameters of the agreed budgets
  • Full P&L accountability for the area of responsibility
  • Pro-actively managing WIP and debt, implementing processes to control, audit and govern all contributing factors ensuring conformance to the sector and Group's objectives
  • Continuously developing and improving the quality of the services provided, in accordance with OCS and client policies
  • Providing inspirational role-model leadership at all levels, acting by example
  • Recruiting, training, developing and motivating colleagues, creating internal succession and business continuity plans
  • Managing all aspects of people management, including conflict, grievance and disciplinary in-line with company process and policy
  • Producing business management information reports as determined for customers' and OCS
  • Being up to date with new industry innovations appropriate to the contracts managed and future growth
  • Taking direct responsibility for the health and safety of yourself, your colleagues and others who may be affected by OCS work activities
  • Continuously building organisational capacity for now and the future, ensuring the company stays fit for purpose and well placed in the market

Experience required:


  • Qualified to Degree level or equivalent i.e. BIFM Qual
  • IOSH managing safely or NEBOSH general certificate

Working experience/Personal attributes

  • Demonstrated significant experience operating at management level within an Integrated Facilities Management environment
  • Extensive experience of managing multiple Soft Services
  • Demonstrable evidence of change management, contract improvements and contract re-engineering
  • Commercial and financial acumen with proven understanding of profit & loss accounting
  • Ability to analyse and interrogate financial and analytical data
  • Operational experience in the Government sector, particularly Crown Commercial Services & NEC3 contracts with Central and Local Government and with other large public-sector bodies is preferable
