Deputy Estates and Facilities Manager
The Courtauld Institute of Art is the UK’s leading institution for teaching and research in the subject of Art History and conservation of paintings. It is also home to one of the finest small art galleries in the world.
As Deputy Estates and Facilities Manager, you will work in a small team, supporting the Head of Estates and Facilities in the day-to-day operational management of the Department and the services it provides covering FM services, reactive and planned maintenance, health and safety, energy and environmental management, major incident and business continuity planning and property management. Specifically, you will have responsibility for managing and maintaining our temporary campus near Kings Cross as well as the opportunity to work with the Project Team delivering Courtauld Connects.
As a member of the Department’s Management Team you will be required to work collaboratively with the Security Manager and Timetabling, Room Bookings and Accommodation Manager as well as other Heads of Professional Services and Academic Staff to support and foster The Courtauld’s mission.
This is a new role and one which requires the role holder work across campuses and to be adaptable and flexible during a period of change for The Courtauld. Ideally you will have a broad understanding of soft or hard FM but, the role provides an opportunity to develop and broaden skills across the full spectrum of FM and property management. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with a wide variety of diverse people is essential. Some experience of line managing facilities and or maintenance staff is required. You will also have good IT, administrative and organisational skills. You will be proactive, able to work on your own initiative to identify and resolve operational problems. A requirement to work flexibly as The Courtauld evolves and changes during the delivery of the wider Courtauld Connects project is also essential.
