Project Manager – Headquarters Move

The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) based in Battersea was formed in 1920 to set the standards of dance teaching within the UK. Today we have a presence in 84 countries, with 36 offices and over 14,000 members.

The RAD are relocating to a new purpose built headquarters approximately a mile from their existing premises which will provide state of the art dance studios, performance & office space, retail outlet, library and social spaces. This new development is fifty percent larger than the current premises  and will enable the RAD to further develop as a world leading organisation.

The RAD is seeking to appoint a Project Manager to play a pivotal role in relocating.  You will be responsible for leading the implementation of a range of project workstreams which will be key to the success of the project.  You will work with a broad range of stakeholders ensuring that moves and changes are delivered with minimal impact on day to day operations.

It is anticipated that the new building and fit out will be completed towards the end of 2020. You will manage all aspects of the relocation including the internal communications ensuring that the steering group and Board of Trustees are kept up to date with all developments.  Together with the Head of Facilities and other personnel the key focus will be on the set up and delivery of facilities management services within the new building, ensuring that all the services meet the needs of the new building and users.

The successful candidate will possess significant experience of managing complex relocations; you will have a solid understanding of project management and ideally hold a Prince 2 qualification.

In this key client facing role it is essential that you will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to be able to negotiate, influence and gain credibility quickly with all stakeholders.

The post is available on a 2 year fixed term contract basis to run over the course of the relocation.
