Haileybury is an outstanding British independent co-educational boarding school, offering modern boarding and day provision for eight hundred boys and girls aged 11-18.  Established in 1862, we are situated on a glorious, historic 500 acre campus in Hertfordshire, just 20 miles north of London and 35 miles south of Cambridge, with an extensive portfolio of properties, including buildings with listed buildings status and approximately 120 residential properties.  

The Head of Maintenance is responsible to the Estate Bursar for the management, maintenance, repair and improvement of all College premises which includes pupil boarding houses, school buildings and staff residential properties.  The Head of Maintenance will provide leadership and management in respect of the above, whilst working within approved budget parameters

The successful candidate will: hold a relevant professional qualification in construction, construction management, engineering, facilities or property management; be a member of a relevant professional institution and have a sound knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety and regulatory legislation affecting schools, including the safeguarding of children.  In addition, they will be an effective leader and have  experience at senior level of: reporting to a Leadership team, managing a property and estate portfolio; project management and delivering capital works programmes within set timeframes.
