As the Contract Support Manager for our Specialist Services division, you will be providing professional operational assistance & supporting the business in delivering efficiently and effectively its commitments to our Industrial Painting clients, to a high standard within the agreed budget and service levels.

You will support the success and safe running of our Industrial Painting contracts and ensure that the team is always operating in a safe environment for themselves, OCS colleagues, our client, members of the public and supply partners.

The Contract Support Manager will also deliver hands-on support as required, to ensure that thorough checks are made in conjunction with the management team and to remedy defective standards immediately. You must have the ability to work as part of a busy team, self-start and achieve common goals.

This role will also actively assist in resource planning and team allocation, ensuring all Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) are completed on time to a high standard and submitted to the client in a timely manner and that work packs are issued to the teams.

This role can be based in either our Banbury or Nottingham offices, with some UK wide travel required.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing professional operational assistance to the Specialist Services (Industrial Painting/Utilities contract) management team
  • Ensuring compliance with company's policies and procedures and quality commitments as well as customer safety rules. Act as point of contact for safety and quality information and implementation
  • Ensuring method statements (RAMS) are completed to a high standard and submitted to the customer contact on time
  • Ensuring a safe working environment is maintained through compliance with all company health and safety policies and procedures, inspection and audit
  • Developing excellent relationships with Industrial Painting client contacts and key customers. Making sure non-conformances are addressed promptly and work proactively with operational teams to avoid re-occurrence
  • Co-ordinating to identify and provide induction and on-going training for directly reporting staff, agency and contractor resource as well as maintaining training records
  • Assisting with weekly resource and activity planning and completing management reports
  • Assisting during the tender process with technical responses
  • Any other ad hoc duties as reasonably expected by the role

Experience required:

Education/Qualifications

  • IOSH/NEBOSH
  • Literate and numerate

Working experience/Personal attributes

  • Working knowledge of the utilities or industrial painting industry
  • Experience in safety and quality management, within the working at height, utilities or industrial painting sectors
  • Previous experience with helping to mobilise projects
  • The ability to produce high quality Risk Assessments (RAMS)
  • Must be self-motivated and results orientated with effective inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload and delegate effectively within a team
  • Customer service and relationship management skills
  • Experience in general day to day operational contracts and influencing colleagues
