We are at the forefront of delivering the largest estates transformation programme across government – Building Our Future Locations – which is responsible for delivering Phase One of the Government Hubs Programme, including the 13 regional centres, transitional sites and specialist sites, which are due to be completed in the early 2020’s.

About the Role

The purpose of the Building Manager is to ensure HMRC meets our responsibilities for Health & Safety/Incident Control management and Security provision.

They will be a key figure in responding to any incident that occurs and have day-to-day responsibility for ensuring delivery of operational security at the specialist/transitional site. You will lead risk around people, data and property.

Key Responsibilities

The key areas of responsibility are recognised as but are not limited to:
• You will lead the day-to-day responsibility for the business continuity and incident control within your site, handling and leading activities to ensure that the building is able provide appropriate control measures in accordance with HMRC's Business Continuity standards
• You will act as lead during an emergency situation and take charge of incidents, make decisions and have instructions followed to ensure the safety of building occupants.
• Co-ordinate the activities of the Incident Control team regarding access to the building.
• You'll work with the deputy Incident Control Officers to gain the assurances required; that any Fire or Building Risk Assessment action points are completed by the appropriate owners of those tasks.
• You will liaise with the Estates Health & Safety Specialist to identify any building specific H&S issues arising from the programme of building related health & safety Inspections.

Essential

Candidate must demonstrate previous experience in building customer and stakeholder relationships within a large organisation/company on all aspects of Estates related Health & Safety/ICO/BCP and Security requirements for that building


• You will have previous experience in establishing relationships within a large organisation or company on all aspects of Estates related Health & Safety, Incident Control, Business Continuity and Security requirements.
