Cluster Technical Services Manager Job Introduction:

Are you an experienced Technical Services Manager with solid background in quality and compliance management? If so then Sodexo are currently recruiting for a Cluster Technical Services Manager to oversee operations at our clients sites based in London and Hertfordshire.

Cluster Technical Services Manager Role:

The focus of the Technical Services Manager role is to manage the service delivery of all M&E across London and Hertfordshire in line with the contractual obligations. It is to manage the Technical Team, manage the sub-contractors relation-ship and provide expert advice and guidance to the General Services Managers.

The role will include the day to day running of the contract, ensuring all statutory and mandatory tasks are undertaken, carrying out site visits, staff training, review and comment on operational issues, amendment and review of the contract asset database and PPM/Lifecycle plan. Control of visiting specialist contractors, producing quotations for repair and project work

This is also an opportunity for someone to join our team and support in the growth and development of their site manager colleagues, whilst also providing expert advice and guidance.

The Technical Services Manager is also responsible for their budget and is expected to understand and report on it as part of monthly finance reviews; support the billing of the client between fixed and variable budgets; build business cases for required changes to the contract and work within the Change Control Process.

Cluster Technical Services Manager Main Responsibilities Include:

·Maintain formal and informal communications with Client Managers related to service activities, including review meetings.

·Provide client and Sodexo with such information and reports as may be reasonably required for the overall monitoring, planning and control of the contract or for other purposes.

·Exchanges maintenance, technical project-related information with specialists, non-specialists, and negotiate with contractors and supplies.

·To have and develop a specialist knowledge and skills on all aspects of Engineering disciplines.

·Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the company quality assurance system and carry out regular audits as required within the quality assurance system.

·Ensure all operations are complaint with statutory or regulatory requirements.

·Actively seek and identify opportunities for innovation and business improvement measures within responsible contractual areas and within Sodexo FM business.

·Attend to and take all necessary action, statutory or otherwise, in the event of incidents and accidents, fire, theft, loss, damage or other irregularities and take such action as may be appropriate.

·To collect all data and information necessary to analyse all aspects of the service taking into ac-count legislation and future direction of legislation, health and safety, Client and Sodexo policy.

·To use data and information in complex forms to bench mark, fault find, predict and analyse systems failures.

·Operationally resolve staff performance problems and resolve staff shortages.

·Make judgements on compliance with health and safety requirements carrying out risk and COSHH assessments within the site.

·Make sound judgements across wide range of issues taking into account legislation, H&S, conflicting demands, offering expert advice on site operational matters.

·Prepare, plan, implement and modify maintenance and procurement programmes to ensure that 100% availability of service to the site. Organise all the appropriate resources to ensure the delivery of the programme as planned.

·Ensure that all written communication represents a professional image to customers and staff.

·Ensure all processes are in place to monitor the progress and quality of works and recognise potential problems taking necessary actions in a timely manner.

·Continue to analyse alternative systems of work and presentation of recommendations for the optimum solution within defined constraints.

·Have responsibility for the maintenance & engineering budget including authorising payments of invoices within delegated authorities.

·Prepare, amend and/or review the performance specifications together with the initial budget costs on a regular basis.

·Ensure that all service costs are correctly applied and charged according to the terms of an applicable contract. Obtain prior approval for expenditure to be committed that falls outside the agreed delegate powers.

·Ensure that processes are in place to assure the prompt provision and efficient delivery of all ser-vices at the specified time to the standards laid down in specified contract KPIs.

·Ensure compliance with all relevant sections of the Quality Assurance Audit and to complete routine audits at required frequency, including Stop Shift Audits and Value of Money (VFM) Audits.

·Ensure systems are in place to assure that all equipment used by the service delivery team and the overall establishment, is safe and secure at all times. Ensuring that all reporting staff are suit-ably trained and fully aware of Sodexo and Client H&S Systems.

The ideal Cluster Technical Services Manager will:

Essential:

·IOSH Certificate in Managing Safety

·High level of practical knowledge of relevant employment, Health and Safety and general legislative requirements

·Experienced at a professional level with a proven track record of building services management and building asset (plant and equipment) operations in a complex building services environment.

·Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to all levels within Sodexo

·Proven experience of managing employees within a service environment and maximising the performance of their team. Experience of direct labour management of subcontracting staff.

·Minimum of City & Guilds Craft Qualification Certificate and demonstrable experience in a trade discipline

·Computer literate.

·Numerate and Literate with developed communications skills

·Planning and Organisational skills

·Flexible with the ability to work under pressure whilst looking for continual improvements to service delivery.

·Ability to grasp requirements effectively and to relate to the service provisions of the Con-tract

Desirable:

·NEBOSH Qualified

·Have held an Authorised Person (Trade Discipline Specific)

·Certification in Risk Assessment

·ISO Standards Internal Auditor

·Management of Legionella, Water Quality Management
