On the back of a year on year dramatic increase in sales & retention, we have a new position for an experienced bid expert to be our Head of Bid Management, leading and developing the Bid Management function for our Business & Industry (B&I) division.

This role will ensure the delivery of consistently high-quality bid submissions that meet and exceed our customer expectations.

You will drive the continuous improvement programme to find new and creative ways of delivering winning submissions to clients, maximising the benefits of industry best practice such as APMP (Association for Project Managers Professional) and Prince 2 methodology to support and improve the customer journey.

We are flexible with location for this position and open to suitable applicants from anywhere across England.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing a team of Bid Management professionals
  • Embedding, monitoring and evolving bid processes to ensure they are fit for purpose, consistently adopted and continuously improving
  • Managing the deployment of bid resources to ensure effectiveness and improving win ratios
  • Acting as Bid Manager for our larger more complex opportunities
  • Supporting the bid selection process and associated governance
  • Developing the bid library and wider knowledge transfer processes to share best practice and remove repetition
  • Organising and leading lessons learnt processes to ensure customer feedback is captured and acted upon
  • Implementing quality control across Business Development (BD) activity
  • Supporting the wider BD activities

Experience required:

Education/Qualifications

  • Degree level education or equivalent/above
  • Association for Project Managers Professional (APMP) / Prince 2 qualifications

Working experience/Personal attributes

  • Proven background in leading bids and proposals within the Facilities Management (FM) industry
  • Previous experience leading and developing people
  • Extensive track record in continuous improvement
  • Project and programme management experience
  • Energetic & passionate about a structured sales process
  • Methodical with strong attention to detail
  • A self-starter
  • Excellent communication skills across all mediums, with strong influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Innovative and consistently looking for better ways of working
