The British Museum is seeking to appoint an Operational Planning Manager to work with senior stakeholders to lead and manage the teams responsible for planning and delivering project activity for the Capital Planning and Programme Management (CPPM) Department and will line manage the CPPM Operational Support Team.

Key areas of responsibility:

The post holder will lead on the development of the operational planning process. They will enable the provision of safe design and execution of all construction activities including logistics in connection with Capital Projects to deliver support to the project managers and senior staff. They will provide support to project teams to enable effective technical appraisal of contractor proposal plans. They will also develop opportunities for improving site operations and logistics and develop the Museum Construction Management Plan to ensure it remains up to date and incorporates progressive changes to reflect an accurate up-to-date set of Pre-Construction Information.

Person specification:

With a degree or equivalent experience in Construction/ Engineering/ Estate Management, you will either have NEBOSH membership or will be working towards it. You will have previous experience in the construction industry along with project management qualification or equivalent experience. Your previous experience will also include a management role in a construction management or regulatory environment. You will have previous experience of people management including experience of managing external supply chain partners. You will be an efficient communicator with energetic approach to work and willingness to be challenged. You will be computer literate with proficiency in MS suite and ability to read Autocad and drawings.
