Facilities Maintenance Engineer Job Introduction:

Facilities Maintenance Engineer Role:

This is a key role supporting all services provided to the site coordinating Hard Services on site, scheduling and controlling both PM and RM works with contractors and onsite staff, reporting directly to Site manager. Customer facing, the ideal candidate would be confident and committed to ensuring all works are performed safely, on time, to budget and agreed timescale.

 

Facilities Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities Include:

·Ensure all works undertaken are on time and in accordance with Statutory Legislation, appropriate maintenance specification and agreed SLA response times

·Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and Company/Client Health & Safety practices and procedures.

·Oversee Hard Services employee and contractor/supplier activities and ensure all safety aspects are managed and monitored in accordance with site procedures and requirements.

·Be an essential part of the management of a team who will ensure the safe operation and repair of building engineering services, fabric equipment, porterage and Handyman services on the site.

·Co-ordinate labour (direct and sub contract) to ensure delivery of the Planned Preventative Maintenance Services

·Manage the provision of a reactive maintenance service during normal operating hours of the site.

·Lead in the provision of a reactive maintenance service outside operating hours of the site.

·In addition undertake activity within your competence to support the team in the undertaking planned and reactive activities to building fabric and building engineering services.

·Be an essential part of the local team who will ensure the safe operation and repair of all M&E building services and fabric equipment on the site.

·This role is site based, so you would need to be an experienced “hands-on” person with good time management skills and a sound working knowledge of Health & Safety.

 

Facilities Maintenance Engineer Additional Role Responsibilities include:

·Member of engineering team coordinating and supporting the safe operation and repair of all M&E building services and fabric equipment across site including but not limited to general responsive maintenance tasks, building deep cleans, equipment moves, waste removal, PM tasks, etc.

·Liaising with contractors to plan and co ordinate PM tasks in conjunction with Client schedule and site operations to ensure minimum disruption

·Raising and organisation of reactive maintenance work and contractor call out as necessary to support site operations

·Working in line with the Permit to Work System

·Work in line with issued Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.

·Use of IT systems (Handheld device) and paper job sheets for work logging as part of the CAFM system.

·Documentation and reporting to ensure statutory and mandatory records are kept and maintained as necessary to meet compliance requirements and legal obligations

 

The Ideal Facilities Maintenance Engineer:

·IOSH Passport or CSCS Card

·Qualified to C&G 2079/11

·HND or NVQ or equivalent in a relevant subject

·Preferably 10 years (minimum of 5 years) experience in building engineering services.

·Previous appointment as Authorised Person for one or more of the following disciplines, LV, Mechanical Services, Confined Spaces, Boiler and Pressure Systems.

·Experience of Construction Design Management Regulations (CDM).

·Excellent communications both written and verbal.

·Numerate and computer literate.

·Previous experience in a similar role

·Engineering background (mechanical or electric)

·Working knowledge of H&S

·Computer literate

·Excellent written and oral communication skills

 

Desirable:

·IOSH Managing Safety

·Membership of Institute of Leadership and Management

·DSEAR Regulations trained, competent and experienced

·Working understanding Explosive Regulations 2014 and COMAH Regulations
