Commercial Catering Equipment and Laundry Service Engineer

Mobile – Cambridge, Essex, Suffolk

Catch 22 are pleased to be representing one of the UK’s leading suppliers of Commercial Laundry Equipment and Commercial Catering Equipment as they seek to expand their Service Engineering workforce in the South East.

With over 50 years trading history and a first class reputation for the installation and maintenance or commercial laundry and catering equipment, the organisation is growing rapidly, with increased sales, increased investment and an aggressive growth strategy for the future which will see its workforce increase dramatically over the next few years.

They are recognised for their investment in their engineering workforce, offering advanced training across catering equipment and commercial laundry (including ACS Certification and Manufacturer Training Courses) to ensure that their engineers have the required skills and fault finding capabilities across a diverse range of equipment.

If you are an existing Laundry or Catering Equipment Engineer in the Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire or Suffolk regions and you would like to further expand your skill set, earning potential and career prospects, we would love to hear from you.

Your main duties will be to repair and maintain all commercial laundry and catering appliances to a high standard, to not only fix the fault but the cause too.

  • You must be prepared to travel distances if required, to emergency/urgent calls if a reasonable request is made by management/allocators. Adequate notice will be given wherever possible.
  • To occasionally install small appliances (dishwasher, small washers, dryers, ranges etc.), or to occasionally assist the installation department to fit a larger machine when you would be there to “help” the install. This could involve an amount of lifting in either case.
  • To fill in all necessary electronic forms/paperwork to a high standard with detailed information.
  • To maintain your van stock in good order and condition.
  • To return Warranty parts and parts no longer required on your van, on a regular basis or as required by the Parts Department
  • Keep your vehicle and yourself clean and tidy, wearing the uniform and safety equipment (PPE) provided always when on Fowler UK business
  • To support the Company through your conduct, appearance and communication with the customer.  In particular do not criticise the Company, products or your colleagues.
  • Keep in regular contact with the Service desk and the Operations Manager
  • And any other duties required by the Business for the position of Field Service Engineer.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Commercial gas qualifications in laundry or catering equipment (COMCAT)
  • Experience in general maintenance and repair work, including knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems
  • A formal electrical qualification would be desirable
  • A valid UK driving licence is required
  • You have excellent self management skills, good IT and paperwork capabilities, a flexible approach to work and travel and a good general engineering and problem solving pedigree.

In return, you will be provided with a competitive basic salary covering 39 hours per week, door to door travel paid, a fully expensed vehicle (available for personal use also), 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising by 1 day per year to a maximum of 25 days, ongoing training and development at head office (fully expensed), extensive opportunities for overtime (at time and a half), no weekend call out work but the opportunity to volunteer for essential Saturday and Sunday work if you want to!

The company has a very hands off, non KPI focused approach to the management of its service team and their staff moral and staff retention are amongst the best in the business.

For more information please contact Paul McQuade on 0203 9556493 or apply online and we will contact you in due course.

Company

From its beginnings in 1982 as a reactive employment agency dealing in last minute temporary help, through the 35 years in between, to the present day, Catch 22 has evolved into one of the country's most well-recognised and trusted recruitment brands.

That evolution, and the variety of services we now offer, has been founded on our commitment to quality in all that we do. Undoubtedly, the bedrock of Catch 22's success is the strength of its people. In an industry where high staff turnover is the norm, we enjoy the commitment of a long-serving and enthusiastic board and workforce, dedicated to maintaining the quality of service that got us there in the first place.

There have been volatile economic times over the course of our history but it is testament to Catch 22's principles that several of our original clients are still using us today. Our ability to adapt and develop has ensured that those clients still enjoy the best possible service at value for money prices.

Nowadays, Catch 22's range of services encompasses the spectrum of the built environment, from basement to boardroom and across all the disciplines that are needed to keep our clients' assets functioning at the optimum.
