Commercial Catering and Laundry Service Contracts

Location: Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire

Are you an experienced Service Manager based within commuting distance of Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire? Catch 22 are working with one of the regions fastest growing specialist contractors, a family business with over 30 years trading experience and a great reputation within commercial kitchens and commercial laundry equipment.

The business provides a wide range of UK clients with essential maintenance, repair, equipment supplies and installation services; covering restaurant chains, care homes, NHS properties, golf clubs and hotels.

As the business wins new contracts and further expands its influence across the UK, it is seeking to expand its engineering team, firstly with the appointment of a first class Service Manager who can motivate, coordinate and manage the existing team of service engineers to ensure that the business continues to exceed its clients expectations. The Service Manager will be able to demonstrate natural leadership and organisational skills, plus deliver a first class customer experience.

You will report into the General Manager but shoulder overall accountability for the efficient and profitable service department operation.

Responsibilities;

  • Day to day management of the service department resource including engineers and administrative support
  • Overseeing the job board management and allocation ensuring it is done in the most efficient and cost-effective way
  • Book all work schedules and ensure these are carried out
  • Ensure warranty expiry dates are recorded and followed up with work plan quotations
  • Manage all issues and complaints for the department ensuring that they are handled professionally, and customers are kept fully informed at all stages of the process
  • Management and process of new accounts
  • Sourcing and Management of sub contractors across the UK to ensure that the companies standards and values are adhered to
  • Team management at all levels – from motivating to disciplining engineering personnel to ensure that the team operates to the maximum productivity

Required skills

We are seeking some one with a proven track record in the management of maintenance and service contracts and engineering teams.

This will be a natural leader, with a sound understanding of engineering management.

A background in Catering Equipment or Commercial Laundry would be ideal, be we will also consider those from similar industry sectors – boiler and combustion engineering; fire and security; air conditioning and refrigeration; electrical maintenance; general property maintenance.

It is essential that the Service Manager can communicate effectively with the engineering team and the customers so a sound understanding of engineering terminology and common issues is required.

  • Leadership and Motivational Skills
  • Organisational Capabilities
  • Administrative / Back Office Management
  • Sound IT Skills and Reporting Skills
  • Complaints Management
  • Excellent Client Liaison and Contractor Management Experience

The Package:

A salary estimate of £36,000 - £40,000 per annum is envisaged subject to experience.
