A large NHS organisation is currently looking to appoint an interim Estates professional to join their Hard Facilities Management Services Team. 

Main Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the day to day operational management of Estates and Facilities service for specific localities that are part of a large NHS Trust that provide Acute and Community Services property portfolio;
  • Support the Estates Team on day to day issues and if they should arise during the course of their daily duties;
  • Work with and supports the various Area Estates and Facilities Managers to ensure a seamless Estates and Facilities management service is maintained at all times;
  • Ensure that the Trusts Estates are maintained in a safe and comfortable condition for all patients, staff and visitors accessing Trust occupied premises, ensuring the services are delivered to meet statutory requirements, government targets and having a particular focus on making sure they are responsive to user needs;
  • Provide routine advice across all aspects of Estates and Facilities management including building, electrical and mechanical and engineering services including planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, and backlog maintenance, catering, management, grounds and gardens, transport and logistics, car parking, pest control, winter gritting services;
  • Provision of advice to Trust staff, directors, senior managers and to external organisations where services are provided via contract or service level agreement;
  • Assist with the development of the Estates and Facilities services policies and procedures and will be responsible for monitoring compliance against contract terms, key performance indicators, legislation and good practice;
A successful candidate will have:
  • Technically qualified in building or engineering maintenance related discipline (to BTEC ONC/HNC NVQ Level 4/5 or similar) or can demonstrate equivalent experience through formal vocational training;
  • Experience in an NHS Estates related Supervisory or management role or can demonstrate an aptitude for management based on at least 5 years’ experience as a qualified crafts person.
