FM Operations Director required for specialist FM service provider


My client is one of the UK's most dynamic and fast-growing Facilities Management services providers. They are looking to strategically appoint an Operations Director to join their organisation near Portsmouth.

They are a highly successful contract services and frontline public service provider, supplying trade waste, street cleansing and grounds maintenance, services to the public and private sectors across the south east of England.

The Role As Operations Director you will actively contribute to the strategic and commercial direction of the business, fully participating in the business's growth and development building a strong financial collaboration with the management accountant in order to bring added value to the business.

Managing a division with an initial budget of £10 million per annum, you will ensure the delivery of key environmental services on behalf of Havant Borough and East Hampshire District Councils. Leading the service delivery you will ensure appropriate methods are used in conjunction with maximising operational efficiency, and developing commercial revenue streams to the business.

You will be able to demonstrate motivational leadership qualities that develop and evolve the business continuing to provide a quality lead service.

As well as being ambitious personally, you will be passionate about proactively leading a team of experienced professionals to achieve set targets and agreed SLAs, whilst building and maintaining key relationships with our service partners The successful candidate will have :

  • Degree educated (business or similar) or equivalent professional management qualifications and training
  • Knowledge of British local government system and environmental services
  • Demonstrable commercial and business acumen with proven experience of managing and delivering target driven budgets
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills with the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships in a partnership environment
  • Extensive management experience at a senior level, including commercial financial responsibility and strategic business planning
  • Articulate communicator with excellent written and oral skills. Confident liaising with decision makers at all levels with strong networking and negotiating skills
