They need an experienced single building manager to be responsible for all FM including M&E in a newly refurbished office building in West London.

You will be responsible for building teams across various service lines as well as putting together budgets, managing service charge and lease agreements

My client is hiring somebody directly for their business to look after a newly refurbished office building in West London. They have further properties in mind to acquire and refurbish over the coming years. For the right person, this role could develop into a regional role covering multiple sites across London.

They are able to offer high levels of autonomy for the right candidate with opportunity to develop the service contracts and build teams throughout those service lines.

Senior Building Manager - Client side - London developer

Overall you will be responsible for approx. 3000 staff within a multi-tenanted building. You will be responsible for or be expected to be involved in the following:

  • Involves traditional building maintenance - requiring a good all round knowledge of M&E set ups for the office environment
  • H&S
  • Compliance
  • PPMs & Reactive maintenance requirements
  • Controlling budgets
  • Managing external contractors as well as monitoring their performance and in some cases put in place improvement plans
  • 2 direct reports currently sit under this role and once established in the role you will be able to build the team further as required

Profile

Senior Building Manager - Client side - London developer

This role is will include all facilities management general requirements and in particular will be looking for candidates able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Individual building experience - previous experience managing single buildings with multiple tenants
  • Strong FM knowledge - in particular understanding of hard services or M&E installations
  • Staff management
  • Management of external contractors and also experience of reviewing tenders or bringing services back in house
  • Ideall the candidate in this role will have the 'right' attitude to building management, looking after tenants, clients and staff to provide a top level service to all parties
  • Negotiating skills - will be required when agreeing service charge rates with a variety of tenants
  • Compliant handling will be involved in the role although ideally this will be kept to a minimum with a proactive approach to maintenance and FM
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate high levels of communication both written and verbal but also show they have a customer focused approach
