Facilities Manager based in Ruislip
My client is a rapidly growing and ambitious restaurant Franchisee currently operating 114 restaurants across Greater London, Midlands, East Anglia, Home Counties, Western England and Wales. The Company is a privately-run business which has significantly expanded. On an annual basis they have a number of new store openings and strong refurbishment programme.
They are now recruiting for a Facilities/ construction manager on a permanent basis.
This position is responsible for building new Restaurants and extending/refurbishing existing sites. It is also responsible for assisting with major maintenance projects as well as adhoc projects as they arise.
- To work closely with the Property and Management Team and third party consultants to develop and build new stores.
- Manage and co ordinate the refurbishment programme for the Estate.
- Prepare twice monthly progress reports.
- Measure and report on performance of all contractors and consultants.
- Appoint, liaise and manage external consultants and contractors to complete the programme.
- To take and develop the brief, obtain tenders, manage the works on site to budget and a high standard to ensure the solutions are achieved.
- Prepare budgets, obtain approvals, manage and control costs.
- To implement design, equipment layouts and brand standards.
- Work with the Franchisee to ensure they adhere to brand standards and the GFP agreement for the new build and refurbishment programme.
- Ensure all necessary consents are obtained for works, including planning, Building Control, Landlords, etc.
- Provide commercial view on the estate and any ad hoc projects that arise.
- Help maintain budget and look for ways to value engineer to obtain best value and quality
EDUCATION:
A relevant professional qualification in Project Management or Building Surveying ie HNC/HND minimum, Degree, RICS, BSc.
EXPERIENCE:
- Enjoys working in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in a national multi unit retail environment.
- Process orientated.
- Ability to work with people of various disciplines at all levels within an organisation.
- A strong and proven drive for results
- Understanding of HVAC systems would be an advantage.
A current driving licence, prepared to travel in the UK and Ireland & spend time away overnight during the week.
