We are working with an International Property Management Consultancy with a wide ranging portfolio of clients across the UK. We are looking to recruit an in-house vertical transportation engineer, reporting into the Technical Services Manager for VT, who can perform a wide range of actions (including audits, inspections, tests, project support and consultancy services) within Greater London and beyond.  

This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned engineer / tester / technician to apply their skills in a unique working environment - operating “inhouse” for one of the world's leading property management organisations.  

Role Purpose:  

  • You will support the Technical Services Division by bringing expertise of Lift and Escalator Engineering across existing and new assets. The organisation has an extensive, corporate property portfolio and a demanding customer base who want to optimize their facilities management spend and enhance their tenant/staff experience. Your core functions will include:
  • Complete vertical transport engineering site surveys & audit reports.
  • Advise on ongoing projects and new installations across the UK.
  • Act as advisor to inhouse and external Facilities Managers with regards any VT issues.
  • Act as intermediary between clients and their third party VT contractors ensuring that their interests an requirements are addressed to the correct standard and for the best price.
  • Provide technical support & advice to the inhouse FM team on a national basis.
  • Review new industry regulations and CIBSE/Vertical Transport guidelines and contract utilities.
  • Review and manage vertical transport engineering business risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships internal/external.
  • Deliver value for money services.
  • Establish and maintain external contacts with statutory authorities and other groups and associations applicable and beneficial to the services provided.
  • Manage service providers and monitor performance against contracted SLAs and KPIs.
  • Co-ordinate the production of performance reports carries out analysis of the results and takes appropriate action to ensure continuous improvement is achieved.

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • We are seeking someone suitably qualified and experienced within the VT industry, ideally to NVQ Level IV or Degree Level.
  • Current UK Driving License.
  • Escalator experience a strong advantage
  • Good verbal and written skills and ability to write good quality reports.
  • Strong IT skills
  • Possesses NVQ EOR/202 (ref: BS7255) and ideally NVQ EOR/204 (ref: BS 7801)
