Rate         £17.00 (PAYE) per hour plus shift allowance 
Duration    6 Months initial contract with potential for staff/permanent

Job Description 
  
To carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive works to building plant, equipment and systems in accordance with agreed service levels, and respond to site engineering emergencies. 
Comply with all reasonable requests from Site Services Technical Manager or Site Services Facilities Manager. 
  
Qualifications 
  
The qualifications below are a minimum requirement for this position. 
 
SVQ/NVQ level 3, Level 3 vocational awards, IVQ Technician Diploma, IVQ Advanced Diploma, Level 3 International Awards.
Level 3 award in the Requirements Electrical Installations BS7671 17th / 18th Edition IEE wiring regulations    
 
The qualifications below are desirable, however if the individual does not hold these qualifications, he / she must be willing to work towards acquiring them.  
 
City & Guilds (APLV) Authorised Person Electrical Low Voltage
City & Guilds (APHV1) Authorised Person High Voltage - Operation and Safety
 
Skills, Experience and Qualifications 
  
An Electrically biased, multi-skilled engineer, fully competent with both electrical and mechanical maintenance. Qualifications, experience and knowledge of: 
 
Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship
Hold relevant electrical qualifications.
Several years of experience working in a maintenance environment.
Have a solid understanding of engineering principles.
Electrical PPM's.
Electrical fault finding, Testing and Inspecting.
Electrical Reactive works
Electrical minor installation works.
Completion of Electrical minor works test sheets
Emergency lighting maintenance, testing and repair
Knowledge of Fire alarms / testing,
Daily / weekly plant room checks.
Maintenance of pumps, generator, motor's, pressurization units,
Practical experience of monitoring and operation of BMS systems, ideally Trend  
Knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning systems and Chillers.
Knowledge of mechanical systems including motors and drive systems.
Experience in general building services - fabrics and plumbing duties.
Relevant professional qualifications
Excellent organizational skills
A good level of communication and computer skills.
 
Key Responsibilities 
 
Professional in their approach to dealing with issues and employees.
Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.
Respond to BMS (Building Management System) alarms, and effect emergency repairs as needed.
Assist in appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems.
Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant, Inform Site Services Technical Manager if stock running low.
Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of completed and signed internal PPM sheets.
Ensure that DRA's (Dynamic Risk Assessments) are completed for all tasks carried out where no specific RA (Risk Assessment) is available to ensure safe working practices.
Ensure that subcontractors are appropriately supervised as required, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating procedures.
Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and compliance with all company policies and procedures and working arrangements, as required.
Ensure that individuals professional and technical skills are maintained, through a commitment to personal development and life-long-learning.
Act as part of Emergency Spill Response team in the event of any chemical, oil or water spillage / leak.
Any other reasonable request made by the Site Services Management.
 
 
Accountabilities 
 

Accountable to the Site Services Technical Manager/ Facilities Manager.
The post holder does not have any directly reporting staff.
This post carries no direct budgetary responsibility.
Accountable for informing Technical of appropriate stocks of spares and consumables, and ensuring their secure storage.
 
 
Hours of Work / Shifts 
 
Site operates a one in four-week shift pattern.
For first 3 weeks work hours, onsite are 0830-1700 Monday to Friday.
For the fourth week work hours are 0700-1900 Saturday to Friday.
When off shift there is a one week in four callout Rota to ensure Electrical cover when Mechanical engineer on shift. Callout times are Saturday to Friday 1700 - 0830.
 
A shift allowance and call out payment is available to compliment your hourly rate.  
This is initially a 6 month assignment with the potential of a permanent / staff position during or upon completion of the 6 month assignment.
