I am currently working with one of the UK's leading Student Accommodation providers as they seek to strengthen their inhouse technical team with the appointment of an inhouse BMS Engineer who can take on the responsibility for advising the regional and national technical services managers on optimising, utilising, maintaining, upgrading and replacing existing BMS Systems and Technology across their property portfolio.  
  
The organisation manages over 120 buildings across the UK and some 60,000+ student bedrooms in a wide range of properties - some modern state of the art new builds and some more historical upgraded buildings. Around one third of these properties has a functioning BMS System. The business currently outsources BMS Engineering works - covering basic system maintenance, repairs, upgrades, training and optimisation - but is keen to bring this service in house. 
  
They recognise that improved use of their BMS Systems can have a major impact on the customer experience within their properties, as well as contributing to energy and cost efficiencies across their property portfolio.  
  
Would you be interested in taking on the responsibility for developing, maintaining, repairing, optimising and improving the BMS performance of this business across one of these two regions?  
  
This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of their systems and drive improvements throughout the business.  
  
The role will initially require a comprehensive review of their existing BMS Systems.  
  
What works? What needs replacing? What can be improved? Where could BMS contribute further to the operational and commercial performance of the buildings and enhance the student experience? Is there a robust and effective maintenance strategy for BMS Technology? Etc! Some times it could be getting hands on with some basis repair work. But by and large - this would be an inhouse consultancy style position driven by the capabilities of the BMS Engineer.
