Your new role
Technical Officer (Electrical) will be responsible for supporting and assisting with the delivery of 24/7 Business Critical Works. You will also provide a full supportive service to members of Asset Management Maintenance and Technical Services teams and must be able to prioritise any work requests while utilising the internal labour force or external resources as appropriate. You will ensure that all functions within the role are delivered on time, within budget and conforms to any team objectives.

  • The delivery of relevant outcomes/outputs in accordance with service level agreements with key clients to ensure maximum levels of customer satisfaction.
  • To identify areas which are a cause for concern and produce solutions to ensure statutory compliance is maintained.
  • Monitor performance of suppliers and contractors to ensure they are conforming to legislative requirements.
  • To ensure optimum availability of the client's assets during business critical works.
  • Understanding and meeting all health and safety duties and responsibilities including ensuring compliance with relevant electrical legislation.
  • Effective prioritisation of activities and time management.
  • Agreeing budgets, timescales and specifications with Clients.
  • Review the service you deliver and how you deliver it.
  • Identify how works can be done more effectively and efficiently.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience of working in electrical engineering in a multi-location building estate.
  • Being commercially aware, assist in managing external suppliers' delivery and performance to meet financial, quality and programme commitments.
  • Ability to manage electrical plant via specialised computer based systems such as SCADA, TEAM and TREND.
  • A relevant degree, or HNC or several years' relevant experience working at a similar level.
  • Ability to understand detailed technical documentation and implement work requirements
  • Ability to take initiative to respond to emergency issues as they arise, determination to deliver and to work to deadlines.
  • Organisation skills to liaise and network with client departments.
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Educated to IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is desirable but not essential.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Excellent communication skills
