An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work for a large healthcare organisation who is looking to appoint a Capital Projects Manager.

To provide strategic estates related advice for business case development and capital developments.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop policies and strategies for the implementation of the capital programme to improve the built environment for patients and staff;
  • Advise and report to the organisation on all matters relating to the building and infrastructure elements of the capital programme;
  • Ensure that competent cost and feasibility advice is provided to project teams in developing the user brief for business cases;
  • Set out protocols and ensure that these are implemented to ensure that briefs reflect user’s requirements;
  • Monitor the financial status of programmes and projects, ensuring regular reports are available;
  • Required to analyse, interpret and make judgements based on complex information and data.
A successful candidate will have:
  • First degree in a property/engineering/architectural/engineering related discipline;
  • Significant practical experience of management of construction projects;
  • IT skills including Microsoft packages incl. Project, CAD software, risk management software;
  • Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety on and around construction sites;
  • Detailed understanding of the principles and practices of capital scheme procurement, construction project management and the processes used within the NHS;
  • Have excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills, to enable effective working with in-house project teams.
