A leading healthcare organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Domestic Services Manager for a period of 6 months initially, possibility of extension after this point also. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operationally and financially responsible for the management and delivery of a cost effective, quality and performance driven Domestic Service;
  • Management of a team, of circa 150, ensuring a vital service is delivered around the clock to exceptional standards;
  • Ensuring that services are delivered in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice and NPSA cleaning services guidelines; contributing towards the achievement of the organisational objectives;
  • Accountability for delivering a high quality, timely, responsive, cost-effective and pro-active domestic service to meet the needs of the wards and departments;
  • Manage and deliver effective and efficient services that meet contract obligations, KPIs and agreed organisational policies and procedures;
  • Lead and motivate a large diverse workforce;
  • Review and plan service improvements in a vibrant and demanding healthcare environment – inclusive of any efficiencies planned;
  • Ensure that patients, materials and equipment are safely and appropriately transferred around the hospital to the standards required;
  • Ensure the organisation has a reputation for its high-quality domestic service;
A successful candidate will have:
  • You will have a confident, professional approach with a focus on customer satisfaction;
  • Proven experience of managing a complex service with a diverse workforce in a customer or patient service environment;
  • Hospital/Healthcare based experience is essential for this role, this is due to the environment and the immediate/continued impact this person must have on current service levels;
  • A proven ability to lead, motivate, inspire and support a diverse team;
  • Be an effective communicator (both verbal and written)
  • Ideally hold qualification related to Facilities/Hospitality Management, or qualified by experience.
