Job Details
A Central London based University are seeking an Interim Health & Safety Officer to assist the Head of Health and Safety with a number of audits related to the estates function.
The post holder will facilitate their control of safety and occupational health risks by supporting it in the implementation of a health and safety management system (SMS), which will promote compliance with legislative requirements and help ensure conformity to the University’s H&S Policy Statement and Framework.
The post holder will attend health and safety meetings, support local coordinators and assist with the identification of training needs of staff and post-graduate students. He/she will be expected to develop and deliver relevant training programmes to Faculty members. The post holder will advise on suitable and sufficient risk assessment and risk control of the various Faculty’s teaching and research activities.
The post holder will possess demonstrable experience in all aspects of estates and facilities across a similar client-side public sector environment (previous education/NHS experience would be advantageous).
This post will suit professionals who are adept at developing policies and procedures with a proven track record in a lead auditing function. This is a diverse and complex estate which will provide the interim with an interesting and varied assignment.
