Following the successful win of a new prestigious Government Courts contract, we are seeking an Area Security Manager to manage and support the Security Supervisors and onsite team in accordance with the HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) guidelines, taking responsibility for delivering an unrivalled quality service within your area of responsibility.

This role will cover across the Thames Valley area (Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey).

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the team and delivering security services within your remit and to ensure that a strategic, innovative, efficient, quality service is provided to the client within the agreed budgetary guidelines
  • Managing the staff time and attendance process, e.g. Timegate and providing management information as requested
  • Providing a quality service delivery to all customers in accordance with company procedures through a highly motivated and appropriately trained team of operational support staff
  • Providing consistently high levels of performance, meeting and exceeding contractual obligations and strategic objectives
  • Taking a direct interest in the Health & Safety of all employees and third parties who may be affected by work activities carried out within your specific remit
  • Identifying recruitment needs and retention statistics to assess resource requirements against contract specification
  • Looking for ways to continuously improve upon service delivery
  • Actively participating in the development of succession planning through ongoing performance management
  • Recruiting, inducting, coaching, motivating, developing and, where necessary, managing the performance of direct reports
  • Communicating clearly and positively with staff at all levels in the area to create a focus on business goals and building an environment where all staff are valued for their contribution
  • Ensuring that all direct reports receive an annual performance appraisal in the required timescale, which includes an individual Personal Development Plan
  • Making sure that appropriate staffing levels are maintained with the necessary skills and providing all necessary training and development to ensure their competence in their respective roles
  • Leading, developing & Managing people through engagement and effective communication
  • Ensuring compliance with OCS and HMCTS values, policies and procedures

Experience required:

Education/Qualifications

  • SIA Licence
  • Membership to appropriate facilities management organisations - desirable
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Time & Attendance systems and processes

Working experience/Personal attributes

  • Proven experience of successfully managing a Security team with a track record of working in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Background within the Security industry, preferably from a government, defence or aviation (enhanced vetting) environment
  • Track record of exceptional customer service & satisfaction
  • Ability to manage people, ensuring exceptional staff satisfaction & continuous development
  • Good experience of managing client relationships
  • Good Financial Awareness, with knowledge of profit and loss accounting
  • Experience of continuous improvement of quality of service in a similar working environment
  • Proven ability to ensure operational efficiency
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to plan and organise
  • Must be able to work as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
