You will be determined, tenacious, enabling and solution-focused with high levels of both emotional and political intelligence. You will be an experienced senior operational manager within a Building / Mechanical / Electrical maintenance service and possess detailed knowledge of legislation relating to estate management e.g. statutory compliance, CDM, planning and building regulations etc.
You will be adept at leading a large department, implementing and managing formal maintenance plans, strategies and procedures, service standards, KPIs and associated monitoring systems for maintenance services. As an experienced leader you will be an ambassador for coaching-led management and an active role model for a positive culture.
About the Role
You will deliver a vitally important strategic and tactical role across the whole of Facilities Management. You will be responsible for the strategic maintenance planning of the estate with responsibility for ensuring University buildings and facilities are accessible and maintained in accordance with current legislation in a safe and effective manner.
You will provide specialist technical advice to the Director of Facilities Management and the Senior Management Team. You will also have responsibility for statutory compliance and building maintenance activities across the estate, developing and implementing standards for building maintenance across the University.
