This is a key role within our clients in house property maintenance team and the role has a particular emphasis on the energy & sustainability initiatives that will help to make their estate as environmentally efficient as possible.

Our client is a public sector organisation in Shropshire.
Description
Working closely with the in house maintenance team, this role will take the lead in terms of the day to day maintenance and operations of the estates engineering infrastructure which includes local building systems, a district energy scheme and a water abstraction and treatment plant.
The purpose of this role is to manage the above systems and to help make the estate as energy efficient as possible, reducing the running costs of these systems and to stratergise and implement a carbon reduction plan to ensure that carbon reduction targets are met.
As well as managing the maintenance and life-cyle of these systems, you will work closely with an Environmental & Sustainability Manager to look at the consumption and reduction of energy to improve the energy efficiency of the estate. This will involve setting and monitoring a utilities budget to tie in with a wider strategy plan for the estate with regards to energy & sustainability initiatives.
You will take the lead on any activity which relates to applying for loans or grants in relation to energy schemes and green initiatives that may be available to the organisation. This will involve leading on the submission of an application and the administration of any successful grant or loan.
Profile
To be considered for this role you will have a background within Facilities Management or Building Services and have a technical background by way of a Building Services related qualification ideally at degree level or equivalent. Professional membership of CIBSE or an associated body would also be expected. You will have also previously managed a budget relating to energy consumption and have a genuine interest and up to date knowledge in carbon reduction and energy efficiency initiatives.
