Lead and support to the estates team and specialist contractors to ensure the estate is compliant and providing best value service at all times and foster a collaborative approach to delivering an outstanding service to caregivers and patients.

Description

  • Manage Facilities and Estates team and contractor to ensure CCL buildings are well maintained, compliant and provide the best environment of care for our patients.
  • Develops Preventative Maintenance needed for maintaining building systems in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and relevant HTM and HBN's.
  • Review and update as required Estates and Facilities processes and policies currently in use and advice on best practice to improve systems where appropriate.
  • Performs quality assurance reviews of work completed by assigned employees and contractors including OKR'S of assigned caregivers.
  • Assist the Head of Estates and Facilities develop and implement a sustainable Estate & Facilities strategy and business plan to assist with the company's growth.
  • Supports delivery of our Health, Safety and Environmental strategy - working closely with our Health, Safety and Environmental Manager.
  • Monitor both internal and external SLA'S and KPIs and ensure targets are met.
  • Assist the Head of Estates and Facilities manage the Estates and Facilities reactive (including CAPEX) and work closely with external contractors to ensure we receive a high level of service and value for money.
  • Support the Head of Estates and Faculties to ensure plans are in place to maintain business continuity across the estate.
  • Monitoring and control of specific delegated budgets for areas of responsibility
  • Participate in out of hours call out rota.
  • Act as Authorized Person (AP) / Responsible Person (RP) in relation to specific maintenance responsibilities e.g. Water Hygiene, pressure systems, steam raising plant, medical gases, high voltage, decontamination, confined spaces, etc.
  • Raise, approve and track orders for goods and services using the trust Oracle purchasing system. Manage delegated budgets.

Education:

  • Formal EITB/ CITB Craft Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering. (essential)
  • BTECH HNC in Mechanical Engineering or BTec National Certificate in Mechanical engineering and ability to demonstrate significant experience in similar environment (essential)

Certifications:

  • Nebosh General Certificate in Health and safety or IOSH Health and Safety and working towards Nebosh General Certificate. (essential)

Profile

  • Cleveland Clinic London is a new-build Hospital and therefore experience overseeing new-build properties and the associated clinical challenges is essential.
  • Strong experience at demonstrating progressively responsible related work experience.
  • Demonstrable management experience.
  • Experience managing large Estates delivering both hard & fabric facilities management
  • Previously held AP positions in a health care environment.
  • Experience of working with steam systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands require full body motion including ability to perform work while bending, stooping, and stretching, climbing ladders; requires dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery; typically required to lift and carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 20 kg. And/or assist with lifting weights exceeding 20kg
  • Requires colour acuity sufficient to distinguish colour coded wiring and piping.
