Facilities Manager required for the Property & Facilities Department (PAF), responsible for the provision and operation of Facilities services across the university estate, promoting a customer focused and positive culture. PAF manages all building services, sustainability, timetabling and the strategic development of the estate, contributing to the delivery of City, University of London’s strategic and operational objectives. The estate consists of 22 mainly freehold properties with a gross total footprint of approximately 118,000 sq. m (1.3 million sq. ft.).

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities will consist of assisting in all matters relating to the operation of City’s estate, leading in-house Facilities Services including Portering and Post, Service Desk and Premises teams. The role requires deputising for the Head of Facilities Management and the strategic, technical and operational management of service contracts, which include Catering, Cleaning, Feminine Hygiene, Waste Management, Pest Control and Landscaping. Health and Safety Management of the above site operations and supporting property transactions, capital and LTM projects..

Person Specification

  1. IWFM Level 4 FM Qualification or relevant equivalent work experience
  2. A higher academic qualification in a relevant subject, and/or membership of an appropriate professional body
  3. Strong demonstrable Technical knowledge and skills of Contract Management
  4. Operational knowledge across all functional disciplines covered by the role
  5. Up to date knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and NEBOSH general certificate or working towards
  6. At least five year’s demonstrable facilities management experience with senior managerial duties
