Job Details

University Partnerships Programme (UPP) is the UK’s leading provider of on-campus residential and academic accommodation infrastructure – and this is an exciting time to join a business with an overarching mission to be the strategic partner of choice in delivering infrastructure and asset management services to universities across the UK.

We are seeking to make the crucial appointment of a Head of Energy & Sustainability to lead the design, implementation and management of a compelling and cost-focussed Energy & Sustainability Strategy for the business.

At UPP, we strive to secure the best value and standard of service in everything we do, therefore the Head of Energy & Sustainability will play a pivotal role in influencing and leading change and performance improvement, both within the business and with our partners and suppliers, with a mandate to proactively set meaningful goals and lead a programme of initiatives associated with the reduction of energy, utilities and water consumption realised through behavioural and systematic change.

As our Head of Energy and Sustainability, you will ensure the development and communication of effective initiatives that aim to reduce utilities costs, consumption and carbon across our national portfolio. You will also prepare and present reports using data to track and monitor progress, to ensure that UPP is fully compliant with all current and proposed environmental legislation – developing the appropriate policies and standards to substantiate our requirements and commitments as a business.

Utilising your demonstrable track record of delivering commercial energy/utility related cost saving opportunities, you will define the UPP vision towards energy and carbon reduction and establish best practice, compliance and consistent management principles across the business – ultimately ensuring any strategies and policy changes are integrated effectively into our operations.  You will do this by managing the formulation of energy and utility forecasts and budgets, leading projects such as utilities procurement and waste reduction – and providing our leadership team, SPVs and partnership boards with specialist advice, detailed analysis and performance reporting.

To be successful in this role, you will apply your knowledge of environmental (and associated) regulations to design effective utility strategies and methodologies for UPP. You would have ideally gained experience in similar roles across a large-scale, multi-site property portfolio.

This is an exciting time to join a business enthused by change – and an opportunity to take a pragmatic and commercially minded approach to deliver cost reduction and strategic improvement that will enable UPP to become an industry leader for energy management within our sector.

UPP is an inclusive and flexible employer that offers excellent employee benefits in addition to competitive base salaries and bonus potential.  The candidate brochure can be viewed at https://online.flippingbook.com/view/925855/
