Responsible to the Senior Estates Facilities Manager (SEFM) for management of the estate and monitoring service delivery, ensuring contracted services through an Industry Service Provider (ISP) are delivered in accordance with the contract, satisfy End User requirements and deliver Value for Money.

This post brings with it the opportunity to deliver high profile works on a busy estate unique within the MOD, to maintain a small township including utility provision, 4500 miles from the UK.

The role is within DIO Regional Delivery Overseas & Defence Training Estate (DTE) based at Ascension Island Base, South Atlantic overseeing Total Facilities Management service delivery and assurance, including planned preventative maintenance, remedial works, reactive maintenance, professional inspections and assurance in accordance with DIO Practitioner Guide EM/02 for all essential and routine maintenance and works across the MOD estate.

Working within a challenging environment and delivering to a 1* customer embedded within a joint service team.

The post offers excellent developmental and career enhancing opportunities for an individual including, during periods of absence etc, acting on behalf of the Senior Estates Facilities Manager (C1) and/or representing DIO in meetings with senior civilian management and military staff, to enhance and develop their skills in contract management to deliver Estate services on a busy, remote Establishment.

Responsibilities

Working in collaboration with the Industry Service Partner (ISP) to enable continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery in both Hard and Soft FM Services

Oversight of the planned preventative maintenance programme to ensure statutory and mandatory compliance is delivered, in accordance with the contract Working to resolve issues in order to maintain operational output for Hard & Soft FM Services.

Work with the ISP to ensure Management Plans are produced to the required standard and are current, including Asbestos, Legionella and Fire Safety.

Regularly accessing and utilising Information Management Systems (IMS) to assure Operational delivery and reporting.

Support, develop and maintain active engagement and strong collaborative working relations with the Ascension Base Command, ISP and wider stakeholder community.

Travel Requirements:

Travel to and from Ascension Island is currently via 3-weekly RAF Tac-AT military transport aircraft.

There is a requirement to travel around the Establishment and outlying sites. Sometimes this may be over rough tracks only accessible by 4x4 vehicle, therefore a full UK driving licence is required.

Occasional travel may be required to UK for training and workshop activities, or to other PJOB locations.
