Job Details
A large NHS organisation is currently seeing an individual to undertake health and safety audits, this is on an interim basis and is multisite so must be a car driver/owner for this post.
Main Responsibilities:
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop with the team, and maintain a system of audits, inspections and action plans with site managers to identify, evaluate and manage risks, ensuring a safe working environment for staff and patients, where the highest standards of clinical care can be provided to patients with non-clinical risks being identified and mitigated to reasonably practicable levels;
- Expected to complete audits on a number of sites, will need some understanding of using audit tools/methodology within the NHS;
- Ensure that systems are in place (e.g. risk assessments, local procedures) for preventing or minimising the risks from work activities;
- Assist the relevant managers in establishing an action plan to deal with issues of non-compliance;
- Assist with the monitoring of environmental conditions to which staff, service users, member of the public and contractors are subject, using technical equipment where appropriate;
- When required, prepare reports for various Committee Meetings, extract data from the incident reporting database and other sources producing statistical information for the Health and Safety Committee to enable discussions to take place on safety management and preventative measures;
- Prepare reports and, where necessary, attend relevant meetings, working groups etc to deliver those reports and advise members on health and safety compliance.
- Demonstrable experience of working in a large healthcare organisation in a similar role;
- Experience in communications and stakeholder management;
- Have knowledge of audit processes within the healthcare environment.
