This role of the Railway Depot Facilities Manager is to ensure by way of control that all Rail Depot Facilities Maintenance activities are carried out with key responsibilities for the front-line response to Plant, Equipment, Building and Services defects. Providing both hard and soft services support to Multi sites across London.

The client is looking for an Railway Depot Facilities Manager who is up to date with both Statutory Legislation and current Health & Safety requirements to join there site in London.
Description
As the Railway Depot Facilities Manager you will be responsible for the following:
- Key responsibilities for the front line response to plant, Equipment, Building and Services defects. The candidate must Fully understand and work to Current Health & Safety requirements ensuring the safety of all staff with Environmental standards and polices being met
- To Manage all Depot Planned Preventative Maintenance whilst ensuring that all Plant & Equipment is maintained to a high Standard through a scheduled plan.
- To ensure that all Plant & Equipment is made available to Operations in meeting the Needs of the Customer. Refurbishment and Refresh of Associated buildings etc.
To develop planned maintenance activities to ensure minimal disruption of Plant and Infrastructure is achieved in effect of Depot Operations
To Manage, Control and Implement cost effective disposal of Waste removal from site in line with ISO 14001 Environmental directives and legislation working toward Zero waste to landfill.
To Manage and Implement the Safe Control of Contractors on site ensuring that both legislative requirements are met and to meet the company directive of Zero LTA's
Successful Record keeping of Facilities databases in support of the maintenance facilities; to record anniversary dates for the test and calibration of tool and gauge equipment in line with statutory regulations.
Implement and Coordinate measures to optimise energy and in doing so, reduce service costs to fall in-line with the Plant Engineering Budget and Targets.
To manage all Soft Service Activities to include security and office cleaning
Defining, for the Facilities management team, their overall objectives and targets in support of service delivery and monitoring results to ensure that planned objectives and services levels are met.
Setting and monitoring the professional standards required of Facilities staff, having regard to quality expectations as well as relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
To ensure that the delivery of services by external contractors are monitored to ensure that high standards and value for money are achieved.
To ensure that all functions within the service area develop and regularly update policies, procedures and quality services that will deliver services in line with contractual & statutory requirements, relevant professional guidance and good practice.
To ensure that health and safety is maintained in line with policy.
To encourage and develop a culture, within facilities services team at the depot site, of excellent customer service.
Profile
The successful candidate will have:
- NEBOSH or IOSH General Standard of Certification or a Recognised Health and Safety Qualification is essential.
- Experience Managing both hard and soft services is essential to be considered for the position
- 5 years + work experience in a preventative maintenance role with a good understanding of all types of Plant and Systems and soft services such as cleaning as security.
- Although the Individual must be able to Manage a Team with in Plant Engineering, the individual must be able to work on his/her own initiative whilst being able to communicate at all levels of the Operation.
- Taking ownership of issues is key to this role, as is developing and maintaining customer relationships
- Continual focus on industry best practice and innovation
- Experience in budgeting and analysis is required.
- Experience in managing front line staff.
- Good communicator demonstrating influencing skills and an ability to adapt approaches to differing audiences.
- Solutions oriented, providing explanations and proposed resolutions to problems rather than purely identifying problems.
- Continuously pursue high standards, embrace change, recognise improvement opportunities and learn from experience.
- Strong understanding and respect for confidentiality.
- Proficient IT skills including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, and comfortable with numerical reasoning.
