This is an opportunity to look after a unique estate, featuring a range of modern and historic buildings. A technically qualified Building Services Manager, you’ll use your skills to manage a variety of accommodation, workshops and offices.
Leading contractors, suppliers and a small in-house team, you’ll take pride in maintaining a safe, compliant estate. Together, you’ll aim to provide the highest standard of building services, via both planned and reactive works. As Manager, you’ll be responsible for project managing small works up to £250k, and for overseeing the entire estate via regular reviews. Specifications, quality control, contractor performance – they’ll all be down to you.
Whatever the task, you’ll keep accurate records and ensure that all works comply with building regulations. You’ll also manage the property budget, H&S co-ordination, environmental management, business continuity and critical service plans.
You'll be a skilled professional with a level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) and a C&G Electrical/Mechanical qualification (or equivalent). Plus, you'll ideally have a minimum of four years' relevant experience. You’ll also be a member of an Engineering institute (CIBSE, IET, IWFM or similar) or working towards accreditation. Your expertise will cover mechanical and electrical maintenance, building regulations and health, safety and environmental legislation. You’ll also know how to manage finances, projects and people, drawing on strong communication skills.
