A large NHS organisation are looking for an Engineering Manager, who has previously worked within the NHS.

This is an interim post for 3 – 6 months based in the Northwest working on a band 7, inside IR35.

The ideal candidate will have a building services/Engineering background with expertise in the Operational and Maintenance side of Estates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring the efficient operation of the estate, its building services and associated equipment;
  • Maintaining compliance with both statutory and Department of Health standards;
  • Maintaining compliance is a key aspect of the role and as such the postholder will implement and operate the Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system to demonstrate compliance;
  • Keep accurate and complete records of all activities and ensure written communication is consistent with legislation, policies and procedures;
  • Prepare reports, efficiency schemes and business cases to help drive the Sustainability agenda from an estate’s perspective;
  • Ensure compliance with HSE guidance and other Approved Codes of Practice.
A successful candidate will have:
  • Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in electrical / mechanical engineering with relevant supporting technical qualifications and experience in NHS Estates Management or a similar building services environment however relevant experience in a similar role;
  • Relevant technical qualifications and NHS Estates management experience, or from a similar building services environment;
  • Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and team working skills with the ability to communicate effectively across a wide range of technical, clinical and management staff within the organisation;
  • Knowledge of NHS procedures for the management of the estate and Health & Safety legislation.
